Healing Oils and the Bible
The Bible is full of stories of healings. Prophets and priests, ancient physicians and early Christians, Jesus and His disciples prayed and annointed with oils for healing and purification. For this they used the aromatic oils from plants in their natural environment. These precious oils, some of them more rare and expensive than gold, were treasured as true gifts from God.
There is no evidence of distillation of oils taking place during biblical times. It is through distillation that modern essential oils are made. When old writings refer to a healing oil, people erroneously assume this is an essential oil as well. Rather, experts believe these were aromatic oils, made by infusing plant material into the same oil many many times over, producing very powerful substances.

Our Healing Soaps
"Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for medicine." Ezekiel 47:12
Essential oils when carefully extracted have the concentrated potency of the life force and the energy of the plant they come from.
The following soaps were made using precious essential oils mentioned in the Bible. Some of their healing properties will penetrate your skin. While soaps probably won't cure your problems, they sure will help you feel better. Commercial soaps strip the skin of natural oils, while handcrafted soaps will leave your skin beautifully soft and nourished.
Our healing soaps are made with herbs, resins and essential oils from the Bible, used since ancient times. They are handcrafted with care and love from vegan, cruelty-free ingredients that produce a rich and luxurious lather that pampers and comforts the skin and the soul.
Information about the herbs and essential oils added to the soaps has been taken from the Bible and from well respected books on this subject. Many herbs and essential oils are considered to have healing properties and you may be able to reap some of their benefits by incorporating them into your soaps.

FRANKINCENSE SOAP
Myrrh is the dried resin of several different species of Commiphora (Burseraceae). These are shrubs or small trees from the dry and semi dry regions of Africa, Arabia and India. Some of the species are used for their fragrance and others for their medicinal properties.
It has recently been discovered that C. myrrha has opiate qualities, which helps us understand why in Mark 15:23 Jesus on the cross was offered vinegar mingled with myrrh. Jesus refused the drug. But if the opiate properties of Myrrh were known in Biblical times, His friends and loved ones were trying to alleviate His suffering.
