ROMATHERAPY AND THE BIBLE

God is the ultimate Master Aromatherapist.

God in His Infinite Glory and Wisdom gave many plants to humanity to comfort them both emotionally and physically.
Aromatherapy, or the use of essential oils to improve one's wellness, has been extensively documented in the Bible and has been practiced one way or the other for thousands of years. Therefore let's define aromatherapy as the therapeutic use of essential oils to help achieve well being.
In the Bible oils were used in anointing, to promote moral repentance, spiritual purification and healing. You must read What the Bible Says About Healthy Living: Three Biblical Principles that Will Change Your Diet and Improve Your Health for a fascinating look at life and healing in Biblical times.

Aromatherapy and its many benefits.

Healing Oils

Aromatherapy can offer a number of physical and psychological benefits, for example a deep sense of well being, of calm or emotional cleansing. Inhaling the aroma of an essential oil affects the emotional center of the brain.

Some of the essential oils
are believed to enhance the spiritual experience during worship. In many churches, resins like frankincense or
myrrh are still being burned during service.

Plants have many properties we encounter every day and yet
don't think about.

Much depends on the combination of the oils and how they are used. Chamomile tea helps you fall asleep faster or peppermint tea will make you feel better when you have the flu. On a cold winter day, drinking ginger tea will warm you up.

Essential oils bring together all the properties of plants in a concentrated form and aromatherapy teaches us how to combine them to achieve better results.

One of the most well researched and interesting books out there on the subject is Healing Oils Of The Bible by David Stewart. If you are interested in learning more about essential oils in the Bible, make sure to check it out.
